sebuah entri cliche dari blogger amatur

the date today marks the third month of me becoming a full time bum. it's been 3 months since i have submitted my dissertation. i haven't done nothing much other than membesarkan badan ever since. bgn pagi, makan. watch veronica mars, surf net, watch tv until late at nite masuk tido. oh sungguh interesting nya hidup saya. there.. there. sungguh cliche entri hari ini. haha don't say i didn't warn you.

anyways, not all were wasted. ada lah juga hasil nya. sikit walau tak banyak pon. i was called by caterer at university cafe to work casually. sometimes i had to serve food to the hungry students, most of the time what i did was spraying tables, wiping 'em all clean. once or twice i had to do till. i became nervous when the line is long. and i know sometimes i did register wrong price for wrong goods. so can't blame those aunties for stop calling me after 2-3 weeks. haha. sempat lah juga dapat gaji around 200++ enough for me to ship craps  i  accumulated  this one whole year back home.

apart from that, i've been helping kajah bake cakes. serius tolong punya. tolong tengok and tolong makan. heh. i know it's lame. not even funny. hehe. plus, the mixer kajah used is mine. bought it from a carboot seller for 2 pounds, when i craved for chocolate cake at that time. i believed i had baked cake on my own more than 5 times already. mainly chocolate cake kukus and choc marble cheese cake. sadly, more often than not the cake i baked didn't look as good as the taste. but i can assure you the taste is almost comparable to the ones sold at kedai bakery cina. heh.

just for the last 3 weeks alone kajah had baked 2 carrot cakes and orange cake, special requests from  her course mate tejas and yours truly respectively. even though she layan tejas ahead of me, but no hard feelings. at least she did bake orange cake for me even if she herself doesn't really like it. kajah made a yummy carrot cake with nice texture and cream cheese on top at just the first attempt. she cut out almost half of it and sent it to her beloved and frens at dunkirk. we finished the rest overnight. yes we curvy ladies at ilkeston road are cake lovvaaahhhss.

the next day she baked another carrot cake, this time for beloved kakak on her birthday. however, probably due to additional carrot for more carroty taste, the cake seemed overly lembut and moist, or hampir kepade lembek. things got slightly worse when kajah heated up cream cheese and butter mix just to get rid of ketulan2 butter which was not properly thawed and the topping became totally melt. so the lessons  were learnt the hard way. maka lain kali jika ingin mengubah resipi, ubah lah berpada2 dan lembutkan butter tu elok2 before u even started baking.

proses membuat kek oren saya went on perfectly with satisfying result. i think kajah does have talent in baking. this time, i did help preparing grated kulit limau, and mixed cream cheese and i-can't-believe-it's-butter for topping.

kata nak makan kek oren kenalah buat2 tolong kan. kudos to kajah for the tasty, yummy cakes. besides kajah talent, the credit goes to myresipi.com for all the long lists of good recipes  with ratings from readers and interesting, encouraging feedbacks with pictures which in a way helped us in choosing the best but simplest recipe. you wouldn't think that i'd go through all the trouble baking or cooking if the recipe doesn't seem simple to me would you? tapi bak kata pakar baking kita, mekjah, cooking is easy as long as you have all the ingredients around. duh!
